Which NFL team fits me?

Compare all 32 current NFL teams using conference, division, geography, market context and stable franchise history — without standings or commercial influence.

Palvenor Decision Engine

Which NFL team fits you?

Answer eight questions about league structure, place and franchise background. This is a transparent preference match — not a power ranking, prediction or assessment of current form.

Your answers are processed only in your browser and are not sent anywhere.

The article below explains the method and lists all 32 current franchises. The interactive matcher requires JavaScript.

How the result is calculated

Each non-neutral answer awards the visible question weight to every team whose stable profile matches it. Highest score wins. Exact ties use the published fixed team order, and the next two distinct teams appear as alternatives. Standings, rosters, coaches, current form, short-term playing style, betting, prices, merchants and affiliate relationships never affect scoring.

There is no objectively correct NFL team for every fan. Conference, division, geography, market context and the kind of franchise history you want to follow can matter in different ways. This tool makes those preferences explicit and compares them with stable profiles for all 32 current NFL franchises.

It is not a power ranking, prediction or verdict on team quality. Standings, streaks, rosters, injuries, coaches and short-term playing style change too quickly to be a durable foundation for this version.

What the eight questions compare

  1. AFC or NFC;
  2. one of the eight NFL divisions;
  3. broad US geographic setting;
  4. home-market scale;
  5. franchise-history era;
  6. founding NFL, established NFL, AAFC, AFL or expansion origins;
  7. shared, single-team or uniquely community-scale market context;
  8. long-settled, relocated, restored or expansion-built franchise journey.

These are bounded editorial categories. They do not stereotype supporters and do not describe present competitive quality.

“Does not matter” contributes zero. The highest score becomes the primary match and the next two distinct teams become close alternatives. A complete tie is resolved by the fixed alphabetical order in the inventory below. The same answers therefore always return the same result without random or team-specific bonus points.

Complete current NFL inventory

The NFL’s official team directory, Football Operations structure and current 2026 season material were checked on 5 October 2026. The league has 32 teams: 16 in the AFC and 16 in the NFC, arranged into eight divisions of four teams.

ConferenceDivisionTeams in fixed tie order
AFCEastBuffalo Bills; Miami Dolphins; New England Patriots; New York Jets
AFCNorthBaltimore Ravens; Cincinnati Bengals; Cleveland Browns; Pittsburgh Steelers
AFCSouthHouston Texans; Indianapolis Colts; Jacksonville Jaguars; Tennessee Titans
AFCWestDenver Broncos; Kansas City Chiefs; Las Vegas Raiders; Los Angeles Chargers
NFCEastDallas Cowboys; New York Giants; Philadelphia Eagles; Washington Commanders
NFCNorthChicago Bears; Detroit Lions; Green Bay Packers; Minnesota Vikings
NFCSouthAtlanta Falcons; Carolina Panthers; New Orleans Saints; Tampa Bay Buccaneers
NFCWestArizona Cardinals; Los Angeles Rams; San Francisco 49ers; Seattle Seahawks

Every franchise has a tested answer path that makes it the primary result. The QA contract also detects unreachable, duplicated, dominant or structurally disadvantaged team profiles. No team is favoured because of recent performance, audience size or commercial availability.

Stable evidence and volatile information

V1 uses: current franchise membership, official conference and division, home market, broad geography, bounded franchise-era and origin categories, and documented relocation or continuity context.

V1 excludes: standings, scores, rosters, injuries, coaches, current tactics, statistical ratings, betting odds and championship forecasts.

The inventory and league structure must be rechecked if the NFL expands, relocates a franchise, changes an identity or realigns divisions.

How to read the result

The primary result identifies the stable franchise profile that best matches your choices. The two alternatives make trade-offs visible: a preferred division may point one way while market scale, geography or franchise continuity points another.

This is a subjective preference comparison, not an official NFL fact and not an instruction to support a particular franchise.

Editorial and commercial independence

Merchants, affiliate relationships, commissions, merchandise, tickets, prices, revenue, betting and odds have no place in the dataset and never affect the score. This page activates no team-commerce recommendation.

Independent status

Palvenor is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the NFL or its clubs. Team names are used for informational identification. The matcher uses no club logos, uniforms, player images or other proprietary visual assets.

Sources and freshness

Checked: 5 October 2026. Membership, identities and alignment are update-sensitive; current-performance information is deliberately outside V1.
