Halloween Costume Finder — 7 questions
Find a practical costume style that fits your event, comfort and available time. Results are editorial guidance, not a product recommendation or safety approval.
Your answers stay in this browser; no account, server scoring or personal profiling is required.

How the match is calculated
Each of seven answers awards visible fixed editorial points to one or more style profiles. Highest score wins, with fixed-order ties and one close alternative. This result does not rank products, substitute for safety checks or consider commercial relationships.
No single Halloween outfit works for every occasion. An impressive mask may be uncomfortable at a party, a full costume may be too cold for an outdoor walk, and a DIY outfit may be easiest when the event is tomorrow.
The Halloween Costume Finder uses seven preference questions to show an editorial style profile. It does not claim to identify a unique costume or verify any specific product.
What do the seven questions compare?
- Who will wear it? Adult, child or mixed-age group.
- What’s the occasion? Party, outdoor trick-or-treating, photos or low-key event.
- Where will it be worn? Indoors, outdoors, both or not yet decided.
- Which visual approach appeals? Recognisable outfit, reuse/DIY, coordinated group or face-led styling.
- What comfort matters most? Uncovered view, layers, dramatic silhouette or easy removal.
- How much preparation is realistic? Under an hour, shop-and-check, a few days or group planning.
- What’s the spending approach? Reuse what exists, low new spend, moderate or flexible.
The tool weighs preferences, not shopping inventory. Both Amazon UK shopping searches linked from the guides are adult-only. They must not be used as children’s costume or mask shopping recommendations. A result is not a safety clearance. Children’s costume labelling, flammability, age warnings, fit and visibility require separate checks.

How the matching works
Each answer adds a fixed number of points to one or more profiles. The highest total is the suggested style and the second-highest is shown as an alternative. A fixed profile order resolves exact ties; there is no random selection or hidden product-ranking signal.
Hard safety rule outside the score: Any item restricting sight, breathing or safe movement should not be used in that setting, regardless of its style score. For children’s fancy dress, check product age suitability, seller identity, safety marking and warnings; avoid flames and risky cords or trailing materials.
The answers stay in the browser. The v1.0 engine performs local calculations only and needs no user account, location service, cookie profiling or AI subscription.
Relevant buying steps, if you choose to shop
Read the recommended editorial guide first. Check exact product fit, safety labelling, stock, delivery, returns and total costs. Merchant links should be shown only when a verified contextual offer is available and clearly disclosed. No merchant or affiliate URL affects the result.
For decorating the venue rather than choosing clothes, use the existing Halloween Decorations Planner.
